You have chosen a large format e-liquid (50ml, 100ml, or more) to save money? Excellent choice. However, since the law prohibits the sale of nicotine products over 10ml, your bottle is sold at 0mg/ml. To get your usual dosage, you need to go through the Mix & Vape step.

But how many boosters should you add? And above all, did you know that adding boosters changes the fluidity of your liquid?

We have developed this smart calculator to give you the precise nicotine dosage, but also to reveal the final PG/VG ratio of your mixture. No more guesswork!

1. Our Mix & Vape e-liquid calculator

Use the tool below to simulate your mix in a few seconds.

2. Understanding Mix & Vape (or "Ready to boost", "Large Format")

The principle is simple: manufacturers fill bottles larger than necessary with an e-liquid "overdosed" in flavors.

  • A 60ml bottle often contains 50ml of liquid.
  • A 120ml bottle often contains 100ml of liquid.

The empty space is intended to receive one or more nicotine boosters (10ml vials dosed at 20mg/ml). By mixing them, you dilute the nicotine in the flavored base to obtain a ready-to-vape product.

The classic nicotine dosage
As a general rule, for a 50ml bottle:

  • + 1 booster = 3 mg/ml of nicotine.
  • + 2 boosters = 6 mg/ml of nicotine.

But as soon as you move to larger formats (100ml, 200ml or more) or specific needs, mental calculation becomes difficult. That’s where our calculator comes in.

3. The crucial importance of the PG/VG ratio

This is the point most vapers forget, and that our calculator is one of the few to address.

Your e-liquid has a base ratio (e.g., 50/50 PG/VG). Your boosters also have a ratio (e.g., 30/70 PG/VG or 100% VG). If you mix two liquids with different viscosities, the final result changes.

Why is this important?
If you add a lot of very thick boosters (Full VG) into a fluid liquid:

  1. The liquid thickens: The final VG ratio increases.
  2. Risk for the coil: If your coil is designed for fluid liquid, a mixture that becomes too thick may have trouble soaking the cotton, causing "Dry Hits" (burnt taste).
  3. Flavor rendering: A too high increase in VG can slightly soften the flavors and reduce the throat hit.

Concrete example: You have 100ml of 50/50 liquid. You add 2 boosters of 100% VG. You no longer vape 50/50, but a liquid close to 40/60. Our tool lets you anticipate this to choose the right boosters!

4. Tutorial: How to make your mix?

Once the calculator has given you the "recipe," here is the procedure to follow:

  1. Open your large bottle: Remove the pipette cap (often unclippable).
  2. Pour the boosters: Add the number of 10ml bottles indicated by the calculator.
  3. Close and shake: Clip the pipette firmly and shake the bottle vigorously for 30 to 60 seconds to thoroughly homogenize the nicotine and base.
  4. Let it rest (optional): Ideally, wait 24 hours with the cap closed so that the flavors and nicotine bind perfectly (the "steep").

5. Frequently asked questions

What if the bottle is too small?
Our calculator indicates the final volume. If you have 100ml of liquid in a 120ml bottle, you can add 2 boosters (20ml). If the calculator recommends 4 boosters (40ml), it will overflow! In this case, get a larger empty graduated bottle to make your mix separately.

Can I use 0mg boosters?
Yes, if you simply want to dilute a liquid that is too strong in flavor without adding nicotine, you can use neutral base or nicotine-free boosters. The calculator works the same way for the PG/VG ratio.
