The term Dual Mesh refers to an architecture using two mesh heating elements, but their operation varies depending on the manufacturer. Some devices activate them simultaneously to increase heating, while others alternate between the elements depending on the selected mode to influence battery life or flavor reproduction.
What is a mesh coil?
Instead of a conventional coiled wire, mesh uses a woven metal surface. Its large contact area with the cotton allows heat to be distributed over a wider zone.
What does “Dual Mesh” mean?
There is no single operating principle that applies to all products. Depending on the pod or coil, two mesh surfaces may operate together, alternately, or according to several electronic modes. You should therefore read the specifications for the product range concerned.
What benefits can you expect?
- More even heating: the design may distribute energy more evenly across the cotton.
- Vapor production: simultaneously activating several surfaces may increase the amount of aerosol depending on the power.
- Battery life management: some devices offer an ECO mode that does not use both elements in the same way.
- Responsiveness: mesh generally heats up quickly.
Does Dual Mesh mean twice the flavor?
No. A better heating architecture can improve the experience, but the result also depends on the e-liquid, power, airflow, cotton, and draw. “Dual” does not automatically mean “twice as good.”
Example: Vaporesso VIBE SE 2
The Vaporesso VIBE SE 2 uses Dual Mesh pods with ECO and PWR modes. This is a good illustration of one of the current trends: using several heating elements and electronics to offer two vaping behaviors from the same pod.

What about more powerful devices?
The multiple-mesh principle also exists in coils designed for a more airy and powerful vape. Liquid consumption and power requirements may then be higher. You should stay within the recommended range for the exact coil.
Dual Mesh and coil lifespan
The technology alone does not guarantee a longer lifespan. Very sweet e-liquid, excessive power, insufficiently saturated cotton, or frequent successive puffs can accelerate buildup. Read our guide why a coil wears out too quickly.
Which e-liquid should you use with a Dual Mesh pod?
You should rely on the coil's resistance value and the manufacturer's recommendations. To understand the role of viscosity, see our PG/VG comparison.
FAQ
Does Dual Mesh use more battery power?
A mode that uses both elements more heavily, along with higher power, may consume more energy. Some systems compensate with an ECO mode or alternating activation.
Do you have to adjust the two coils yourself?
On most of the pods concerned, the electronics manage the operation. The user may choose a mode or power level within the specified limits.
Can you use any Dual Mesh pod?
No. A pod must be compatible with the specific model of electronic cigarette.
